Houston Police Department – LiveScan Equipment

• Funding to purchase more LiveScan equipment, enabling them to capture electronic fingerprints and be part of the IAFIS (Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System) program to determine in seconds alienage and criminal history.

City of Houston - $150,000

Houston Police Department – Mobile AFIS Equipment

• Funding to purchase 50 additional handheld devices to quickly capture biometric information of suspects to determine their criminal histories, outstanding warrants, including failure to appear for an immigration proceeding

University of Houston - $475,750

Center for Clean Fuels and Power Generation

• Funds would be focused on the synthesis and development of clean and sustainable fuels, their combustion for efficient generation of portable power, and their exhaust after-treatment for minimal impact to the environment. 

Gulf Intracoastal Canal Association - $29,586,000

(GIWW) Operations and Maintenance

• Funds would be used for dredging of selected GIWW reaches in Texas.
• Victoria, Cedar Bayou, and Harlingen Channels: $5.9 million

Houston Airport System - $712,500

Noise Mitigation

• FAA Airport Improvement Program Grants-in-Aid to Airports; Discretionary Set-Aside: Noise compatibility. 

Gulf Intracoastal Canal Association - $4,000,000

Galveston Railroad Bridge Replacement

• Funding to replace Galveston Railroad Bridge due to continuous barge damage and waterway safety.  On average, property damage from tows striking the bridge or its fender works exceeds $1 million a year. Actual damages and closures for repairs at this location cost over $5 million per year.

Lower Trinity River Operations and Maintenance

• The Trinity River Project is a 47 mile shallow draft waterway beginning with the Anahuac Channel which extends for 5.6 miles from the 6 foot depth in upper Trinity Bay to the Mouth of the Trinity River at Anahuac Texas.  From the mouth of Trinity River, the channel to Liberty proceeds for 41.4 miles along the meanders of the Trinity River to the Port of Liberty.  Also included is a 9-foot depth channel extending from the Houston Ship channel along the east shore of the Trinity Bay, to a point one mile below Anahuac, Texas. 

Lamar University - $3,000,000

Advanced Fuel Cell Research Program (also known as Advanced Laser Electric Power)

• Funding would continue to develop an efficient and clean advanced renewable energy source to meet urgent U.S. Army space and missile defense battlefield requirements.

Sabine-Neches Navigation District - $478,000

Sabine-Neches Waterway, Texas Planning, Engineering, and Design

• Funds would complete the feasibility study phase of deepening and widening the Sabine-Neches Waterway and begin the Planning, Engineering, and Design (PED) phase of the General Investigation of deepening and widening the waterway.

Lamar University - $238,000

Community and University Partnerships Service (CUPS)

• Funding is designed to coordinate, plan and promote quality healthcare for underserved populations in Southeast Texas. 

Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital - $190,000

Behavioral Health Center

• Funding to renovate the Behavioral Health Center’s 40 year old facility to better serve residents in Southeast Texas. 

City of Beaumont - $190,000

Downtown Streetscape Improvements

• Funding for improvements to a 20 block area in downtown Beaumont, including Neches Street from Laurel to College Streets and Park Street from North to College Streets.
