| Service Academy Nominations |
As a U.S. Representative, I have the privilege and honor to nominate qualified men and women who reside in the Second Congressional District of Texas to our nation’s Service Academies: the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Military Academy and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. The nomination process is very competitive for the limited number of nominations available. The selection of those nominees is always a difficult decision for the Second District’s Service Academy Nomination Board. Our nation’s Service Academies are among the finest schools in our great nation. They not only teach academics; they instill discipline, commitment and leadership in the young Americans who attend. The Nomination Board looks for a well-rounded applicant: academic qualifications, SAT/ACT scores and leadership weigh into what makes a good applicant. Being physically and medically fit are vital. If you are interested in applying for entrance into one of the nation’s Service Academies in the Summer of 2014, please download the Fact Sheet and application, read them carefully and be certain that you comply all criteria and the designated deadline. Thank you for your interest and desire to serve this great nation. God and Texas,
