Service Academy Nominations

“Service to God, country and people are the most
honorable accomplishments and contributions
that a person can make in life.”
~ Congressman Ted Poe

As a Member of the United States Congress, it is my honor to nominate young men and women to the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Military Academy and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. The nomination process for the Second Congressional District of Texas is very competitive for the limited number of nominations available, and the selection of those nominees is always a difficult decision for my independent Service Academy Nomination Board.

Our Service Academies are among the finest schools in our great nation. They teach academics but also instill discipline, commitment and leadership in the young Americans who attend. In selecting nominees, my Service Academy Nomination Board looks for well-rounded applicants and also considers academic qualifications, SAT/ACT scores and demonstrated leadership. Being physically and medically fit are vital.

If you are interested in applying for one of my nominations for the classes that will enter the Academies in the summer of 2015, please download the Fact Sheet and Application. Please be sure to read these documents carefully and be certain that you comply with the deadline and all the criteria. If you have any questions, please contact my Service Academies’ Director, Marlene Moulder, at: marlene.moulder@mail.house.gov
